News About Datamaran Chief Technology Officer
Risk analytics software company Datamaran announced the executive appointment of Bert Sinnema as Datamaran Chief Technology Officer. Based at the company’s Leeuwarden office in the Netherlands, Sinnema will oversee Datamaran’s international engineering and product teams, which include operations in London, New York, and an engineering center in Valencia, Spain.
Sinnema brings more than twelve years of engineering leadership across startups and enterprise platforms at the intersection of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and cloud software. Prior to joining Datamaran, he served as Vice President of Engineering at Eye Security, where he scaled the engineering organization threefold and supported the company through a 60 million euro Series C funding round.
His background also includes serving as Director of Engineering at ethical hacking platform HackerOne, as well as founding and serving as CTO of secure communications firm SmartLockr, which graduated from Microsoft’s Ventures Accelerator in Berlin. Working alongside Datamaran Chief Executive Officer and co-founder Marjella Lecourt-Alma, Sinnema will manage software architecture, feature delivery, and platform scalability as Datamaran accelerates its transition from ESG management into a comprehensive AI-powered corporate governance platform.
Significance of Datamaran Chief Technology Officer
The appointment of the Datamaran Chief Technology Officer is significant for the corporate risk management sector because enterprise compliance teams face mounting regulatory complexity, shifting stakeholder demands, and fast-moving ESG oversight standards. Traditional governance workflows often depend on manual reporting and fragmented spreadsheets, creating information delays during critical strategic reviews.
Datamaran addresses these challenges by integrating artificial intelligence deeper into its data platform to surface actionable insights regarding external risks, corporate regulations, and corporate governance trends. Deploying AI across continuous data pipelines enables corporate boards and executive leadership teams to anticipate regulatory shifts and market risks proactively.
Furthermore, onboarding an engineering executive with extensive cybersecurity and scale-up experience ensures that Datamaran’s software foundation maintains enterprise-grade security and reliability. As large multinational organizations adopt AI to guide strategic governance decisions, maintaining strict system architecture standards, data privacy controls, and high-velocity product execution becomes essential.
Next Steps for Datamaran Chief Technology Officer
Following his executive appointment, Sinnema will coordinate product management and software development pipelines across Datamaran’s hubs in Leeuwarden, London, New York, and Valencia. Engineering teams will focus on expanding machine learning capabilities to accelerate automated risk detection and simplify compliance workflows.
Looking ahead, Datamaran will continue building out its enterprise governance suite, partnering with multinational clients to align software features with emerging global regulatory requirements. Executive leadership plans to release upgraded platform features that provide corporate leaders with faster, decision-ready data intelligence.
